Insight Genetics Presented Presents Posters on Immune Cell Involvement in TNBC at San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium

Insight Genetics, Inc.’s proprietary Insight TNBCtype™ algorithm was featured in two posters on triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) presented on December 7 at the 2016 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS).

  One poster, “Mesenchymal Subtype Negatively Associates with the Presence of Immune Infiltrates with a Triple Negative Breast Cancer Classifier,” presented in conjunction with King’s College and the Institute of Cancer Research in London, describes patterns of immune cell infiltration among the various TNBC subtypes identified by Insight TNBCtype.  The retrospective analysis of nearly 1,000 TNBC tumors revealed interesting subtype-specific patterns that may have an impact on which TNBC patients may be candidates for immunotherapies.

The poster, “Rates of Immune Infiltration in patients with Triple-Negative Breast Cancers by Molecular Subtype and in Patients with Inflammatory and Non-Inflammatory Breast Cancers.” presented by Naoto Ueno’s group at MD Anderson Cancer Center, explores patterns of immune cell involvement within the various subtypes for both inflammatory and non-inflammatory TNBC. 

The subtyping methodology used in the analysis for both posters is based on the classification algorithm for triple-negative breast cancer that Insight has exclusively licensed from Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
